(Here's the deal, if you want to stay cool in the summer; or, dry & warm in the winter, you need the wicking under garments. In the summer, they are lighter & evaporate sweat faster than cotton. You will actually feel cooler riding with an Olympia Mesh Tech gear in combination with the wicking under gear than you would be with riding in a pair of jeans & T-shirt. The sun won't be directly on your body, you'll feel incredible air flow, and your sweat will evaporate much faster than cotton. In the winter, the wicking material prevents you from getting sweaty during stops when you're wearing layers of riding gear. How many times have you made a stop & by the time you got on the road again your t-shirt's damp?

There's also other benefits too. It packs smaller than cotton products so it takes up less room in your bags. Also, you can hand wash it in the motel sink & it will hang dry by the next morning.
